The Horizon Foundation and Women’s Giving Circle of Howard County have released a groundbreaking report examining Black women's experiences, challenges, and contributions in nonprofit leadership roles in Howard County. The report “Elevating to Evolve: Stories of Wisdom, Excellence and a Call for Change from Black Women Nonprofit Leaders in Howard County” sheds light on the unique journeys of these leaders and calls for actionable steps toward greater equity and inclusion.
The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) received a generous donation of $5 million from the Sherman Family Foundation. The gift is intended to help the BSO introduce more children and young people to symphonic music, and will support the orchestra's various outreach initiatives to this end.

Philanthropy plays a unique role as a sector and is well positioned to be a persistent voice supporting good governance, sharing expertise and resources, and advocating for authentic community engagement in decision making. Maryland Philanthropy Network supports our members capacity to engage in public policy. New coordination tools are now available for members to share information and resources related to federal policy issues impacting Maryland.
