Maryland Department of Aging’s 2024 Legislative Priorities and Strategies
Join our Baltimore Seniors and Housing Collaborative’s Empowering Older Adult Advocates Workgroup for an opportunity to learn about Maryland Department of Aging’s 2024 Legislative Priorities and Strategies.
Andrea Nunez, Legislative Director at the MD Department of Aging, will share the Department’s legislative priorities for the 2024 session and their strategies for recruiting legislation sponsors and champions. Ms. Nunez invites workgroup members to provide feedback on concerning issues that can be addressed in Annapolis through the legislative process and provide direction on the support she will need.
Marceline White, Co-Chair of the Workgroup, will also share the list of 2023 bills that were passed affecting older adults and people with disabilities.
The Older Adult Advocacy workgroup helps foster the advocacy of older adults in Baltimore City on issues of concern to them. In our initial meeting, we gathered some information about some small pockets of older adult advocacy/groups and talked about ways to bring these groups together to see if there might be potential to form a larger group or coalition.
This meeting is for MPN members and invited guests only.
