Member-Sponsored Briefing: Improving Kindergarten Readiness Through the All Children Ready Initiative
In an effort to improve educational outcomes in Baltimore and across the state, Improving Education, a local non-profit organization, will share learning and insights about its “All Children Ready” Initiative and what it might take to improve Kindergarten Readiness outcomes at scale. All Children Ready is focused on improving the systems of instruction and support while collaborating with Head Start and other early childhood programs. In its third year, this initiative has supported over 800 children and is poised to expand and replicate outcomes in the coming years. While currently focused in Baltimore, this work is replicable across other jurisdictions in Maryland.
This session will discuss the importance of, and implications for, investing in early childhood work to improve Kindergarten Readiness and the future school success of children. We will share the current work of the All Children Ready Initiative and propose ways the funding community could seed investments that can be sustained and scaled through local and state public funding. We will conclude by engaging participants in a discussion of collective funding focused on improving quality of work in early childhood and outcomes for students.
This briefing is sponsored by the Abell Foundation, The Richman Foundation, and the Wright Family Fund.
This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members and invited guests only.
