Tour: Goodwill Excel Center High School

In Fall 2023, Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake opened the Baltimore Excel Center High School at its former office space on Redwood Street. The school is the newest among a network of Excel adult high schools across the country. The Baltimore Excel Center is designed to provide residents aged 21 and older the opportunity to receive a tuition-free high school diploma along with access to post-secondary education and careers.

The model is an alternative to GED programs for the many adults in our communities without a high school diploma. It offers a streamlined, accelerated, self-paced and highly individualized academic program that typically takes two years to complete, depending on how many high school credits a student has already accumulated. Students who complete the program receive a Maryland State Department of Education diploma.
