Focus on City Schools: Literacy Priorities and Updates

Literacy remains one of the priority areas for the current administration for Baltimore City Schools. Ms. Janise Lane will return to present the latest Baltimore City Schools’ Literacy Plan for the 2017-2018 school year. The presentation will focus primarily on updates since last year's presentation, with a focus on early childhood and high school students.  

Presenters:

  • Janise Lane is the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning in Baltimore City Schools. Ms. Lane brings extensive background in literacy development, coaching teachers, adult learning, and strong pedagogical strategies to the work of leading the Teaching and Learning team.
  • Dr. Lindsay Sullivan is the Director of Literacy, Languages, and Culture in Baltimore City Schools. Dr. Sullivan has extensive background in literacy development and research-based strategies that support early readers.

This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members only. Lunch will be served.
