Foundation Leaders Convening
As leaders of foundations in Maryland’s philanthropic sector, you all have navigated a year of overwhelming change. From a global pandemic to the uprisings of the racial justice movement, enormous inequities across our communities demand change. Some of you have increased your payout, others are supporting efforts around advocacy and organizing, and all of you are experts in what it takes to lead your institutions. This convening is an opportunity to tap into the wisdom of Maryland Philanthropy Network’s foundation leaders.
In this session, you will deepen relationships with regional leaders while sharing and aligning grantmaking strategy, practices and reporting. The session will begin with networking opportunities followed by a roundtable discussion about equity-focused philanthropy and, time permitting, close with some smaller conversations in breakout rooms. Some questions you can look forward to diving deeper into with your peers are:
- Where have you seen progress as you navigate equity-focused philanthropy? What are the challenges?
- What resources have been helpful for you? What has been your strategy and how did you get there? What elements of the strategy have been helpful and where are there areas for growth?
- What trends are on the horizon that you have started to think about to shape your foundation’s people, processes and technology?
This event is open to non-MPN member leaders of regional foundations as well. We encourage members to share with peers and have them register by emailing Joyce Bartlett with their name, foundation and position title.
This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network CEOs, Presidents, and Executive Directors and invited guests only.
