A Guidebook for Equity - Chicago Beyond’s Why Am I Always Being Researched?
The power dynamic between community organizations, researchers, and funders can block information that could drive better decision-making and fuel more investment in communities most in need. If we do not address the power dynamic, at best, we are driving decision-making from partial truths. At worst, we are generating inaccurate information that ultimately does more harm than good in our communities. This is why we must care about how research is created.
Please join Chicago Beyond’s Chief Investment Officer, Shruti Jayaraman and their Growth Director, Steve Gates as they lead a session on their guidebook titled Why Am I Always Being Researched? We hope this session will provide an understanding of the equity-based research mentioned in the guidebook to community organizations, partners, and funders.
This program is open to Maryland Philanthropy Network members, Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative members, and other invited partners.
