Member-Sponsored Event: Neighborhood Design Center Turns 50: A Snapshot of NDC in Reservoir Hill
The Neighborhood Design Center (NDC) is celebrating their 50th year in 2018 and they are kicking it off with a special February Show your Love to NDC tour in Reservoir Hill.
Founded in 1968, the Neighborhood Design Center is a nonprofit organization that facilitates the development of healthy, equitable neighborhoods through community-engaged design and planning services. By providing the tools, expertise, and partnerships necessary to realize neighborhood visions, NDC supports broad participation in the evolution of the built environment.
The one and a half hour walking tour will start at Dovecote Café and will highlight past, present and future NDC projects and partners located within the Reservoir Hill neighborhood from the past 50 years. Maryland Philanthropy Network Members are encouraged to assemble at Dovecote promptly at 11, where Jennifer Goold, Executive Director of NDC will give a preview talk with coffee before we set off on foot.
Tour highlights will include:
- Whitelock Farm
- German Park
- Various streetscape plans and projects through the years.
We will end the tour back at Dovecote Café, where participants will learn about future partner and project details. Snacks will be served.
This event is sponsored by the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation for members of the Maryland Philanthropy Network and invited guests only. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
This event was originally scheduled for February 26, 2018.
