Communities around the globe are currently responding to an outbreak of respiratory disease, known commonly as "COVID -19", which is caused by the virus “SARS-CoV-2”. The virus has now been detected in more than 100 locations internationally, including in the United States. 211 is the coronavirus helpline for the State of Maryland in partnership with the Maryland Emergency Management Agency and Maryland Department of Health. People can call 211 or sign up to receive alerts and resources related to COVID-19 text “MdReady” to 898211.
On March 20, we along with Maryland Nonprofits and United Way of Central Maryland sent this Letter to Maryland's Leadership outlining ways to support the nonprofit community and the communities they serve during these times of uncertainty.
