About the Group
The Prenatal-to-Five (PN-5) Affinity Group convenes funders who are interested in supporting expectant parents and children from birth through age five and their families to improve outcomes. We apply a comprehensive early childhood systems development framework and work together by:
- Continued Learning and Relationship-building.
- Learning about early childhood development, research, systems change efforts in Maryland, and best practices in Maryland and around the country;
- Staying updated on opportunities to promote positive changes in systems, policies, and outcomes and on members’ own grantmaking activities;
- Creating space for funders to share experiences and learnings with each other.
- Identifying Gaps.
- Assessing systems change efforts for gaps that could benefit from philanthropic support;
- Reviewing early childhood development measures to identify population-level gaps among young children in Maryland;
- Collaborating and Advocating.
- Serving as a convenor and connector among key implementers and stakeholders, in the public, private and research sectors; and
- Catalyzing funder advocacy, collaboration, and collective action.
