Baltimore Community Foundation Welcomes Michael J. Campbell as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration
The Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF), which connects a diverse community of donors to build a better Baltimore, has hired Michael J. Campbell as its new chief financial officer and vice president of administration. As CFO, Campbell will lead the execution of BCF’s financial management strategy and contribute to the stewardship of the foundation’s strategic goals. Campbell will succeed Patti Chandler, vice president of finance and administration, who has announced her intention to retire. Chandler will stay on in an advisory role through March 2022 to ensure a smooth transition.
“Patti left an indelible mark on our team through her dedicated leadership of the finance department, and we wish her well in her retirement,” said Shanaysha Sauls, CEO, Baltimore Community Foundation. “At the same time, I am pleased to welcome Mike to our leadership team. His deep experience leading financial operations across the for-profit sector coupled with his dedication to support social impact organizations make me confident that Mike will play an important role in strengthening BCF’s impact.”
Campbell joins BCF’s executive team with 30 years of experience in senior-level financial and operational roles across the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. Before accepting this role, Campbell was the chief financial and accounting officer for a multi-billion-dollar pension fund, where he was responsible for leading the finance, accounting and investment operations since 2017. Prior to that, he served as the vice president of finance for an $8 billion global professional services firm for 16 years.
