Community Foundation launches campaign to address human needs issues
The Community Foundation of Frederick County has launched a campaign to raise $10 million in hopes of addressing current and future needs in the county.
The Forever Frederick County campaign, launched Wednesday night at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center, aims to raise $20 million. The foundation has already raised the first half, said Betsy Day, president and CEO.
Forever Frederick County will go toward grants for nonprofits and the county working to address the foundation’s three focus areas: supporting families with children, preparing for an aging population and responding to substance use disorder.
The foundation, through reports such as the Human Needs Assessment, has proved that it is an organization that can identify needs and act on them, said Gordon Cooley, director of Forever Frederick County.
