The Fund for Educational Excellence Elects Three New Members to its Board of Directors
The Fund for Educational Excellence, the local nonprofit working to ensure all children in Baltimore City Public Schools experience an effective and equitable education, has elected three new members to its Board of Directors: Nancy Jordan-Howard, Arun Subhas and Justin A. Redd
Nancy Jordan-Howard is Chief Operating Officer at Baltimore Development Corporation. A returning Fund for Educational Excellence board member, Nancy brings to the board a strong expertise in finance and administration, a support for Baltimore City Public Schools, and an understanding of the school system as a City Schools alumna. Nancy’s volunteer efforts focus on promoting economic equity and opportunity, including serving as Co-Chair of the Workforce System Effectiveness Committee on the Baltimore Workforce Development Board.
Arun Subhas serves as the Office Managing Partner for the Baltimore office of Ernst & Young LLP. An education advocate, Arun understands a strong education and school system can serve as the foundation for improving communities in Baltimore for generations to come. As part of his firm’s work to address the educational inequities highlighted during the pandemic, his firm has increased its focus and is working with City Schools directly and through non-profit service organizations providing financial and volunteer support.
Justin A. Redd is a principal at Kramon & Graham, P.A. where he is a member of the Litigation practice and leads the firm’s diversity, equity, and inclusion committee. A former special education teacher in Baltimore City, Justin is committed to ensuring an excellent education for all students and to making lasting improvements in the Baltimore City Public Schools system for students, teachers, and families.
“Collaboration among groups of committed leaders with a variety of skills is a key to improving the systems and opportunities that support Baltimore’s students,” said Roger Schulman, President and CEO of the Fund for Educational Excellence. “Nancy, Arun and Justin each bring with them a unique set of talents, perspectives and a passion for improving education in Baltimore. We’re thrilled to welcome them and to continue making progress.”
