Maryland Public Television Launches Maryland Center for Media Literacy & Education
Maryland Public Television (MPT) has launched the Maryland Center for Media Literacy & Education, a new initiative designed to empower Marylanders of all ages to navigate the complexities of modern media. The announcement was made during a livestreamed event on November 19, held at MPT’s Irene and Edward H. Kaplan Production Studio in Owings Mills.
The Center builds on MPT’s long-standing commitment to education, expanding its mission to include media literacy programming aimed at improving critical thinking, digital literacy, and informed decision-making in today’s media-driven society. The project is funded by the Sherman Family Foundation.
