From flexible giving to well-managed tech tools, the new generation of donors are changing up the old models of charitable giving.

Buffy Minkin grew up in a family where formal philanthropic giving was the norm. Her husband, Will, also grew up in a family that gave back, though in less formal ways. What they shared was an upbringing where the importance of helping others was modeled for them from a young age so that as they became adults, charitable giving felt completely natural.

But the Minkins, Gen X professionals who have two children, aren’t necessarily giving in the same way as their parents and grandparents. Buffy says it’s interesting to see this play out in her own family of multi-generational givers.
