Tina Hike-Hubbard Joins Baltimore Schools
Tina Hike-Hubbard will join City Schools’ leadership team as chief communications and community engagement officer, effective March 25. In this new role, Ms. Hike-Hubbard will oversee family and community engagement, partnerships, internal and external communication, and enrollment.
“Bringing these program areas together under one leader at the most senior level reflects the essential role of families and communities in the success of our students and schools,” said Dr. Santelises. “We want families to know they are welcomed as partners at both school and district levels, and to ensure they have the information they need to support their children’s success. We also want to enlist and expand the participation of families, community members, and partners in the lives of our schools.”
Ms. Hike-Hubbard comes to the district from Enterprise Community Partners, where she currently serves as senior director for the mid-Atlantic market. She began her career as a middle school teacher, coming to Baltimore in 1994 through Teach for America, and joined Enterprise in 1997 as a program director focused on neighborhood transformation in West Baltimore. Most recently, she has been involved in initiatives in areas including service to the homeless, racial equity, sustainable building, partnerships with governmental agencies and philanthropies, and scaling up a model of community development and school reform in four cities nationwide.
