Philanthropic Seminar: Viewing TED Talks
Since 2006, Ted Talks have been viewed 290 million times online. If you have resisted the TED Talks trend, join now with your Maryland Philanthropy Network colleagues in directing your internet browser to a learning forum where speakers have 18 minutes to present their ideas about Technology, Entertainment and Design. Rather than a reading this month, we will discuss the influence of TED and collectively view Michael Milken's Thoughts on Creating Value.
Viewing: Michael Milken: Thoughts on Creating Value http://www.ted.com/talks/lang/eng/michael_milken_on_activism.html
Consider choosing at least one other TED Talk at http://www.ted.com/ or http://www.youtube.com/TED. Overwhelmed by choice, sample the visually creative Ken Robinson: Changing education paradigms.
Demanding schedules often erase time for rich discussions on ideas and deeper reflection on our role as philanthropists. Let Maryland Philanthropy Network carve out time for you to explore new ideas and hear with what issues folks are wrestling. Each third Wednesday of the month (Jan-Apr), our conversation will spring from a short and unique reading assignment from outside philanthropy. Open to all Maryland Philanthropy Network members.
Please reserve 8:30-9:30 on April 20 for the final spring seminar.
