Talking Shop: Grantmaker Perspectives on Foundation Annual Reports

Talking Shop: Grantmaker Perspectives on Foundation Annual Reports

Thursday, June 16, 2011, 9:00, 2011 - 10:30 AM

Join colleagues for a discussion about the value of producing foundation annual reports. Co-created by annual meeting speaker Mark Sedway, a 2010 report titled Talking to Ourselves? A Critical Look at Annual Reports in Foundation Communications claims that new online media and the trend of ongoing communication have supplanted once-a-year publications. Let's explore these findings and hear the perspectives of our local colleagues. If you have or are thinking about producing an annual report of your grantmaking, we hope you will attend.

What's "Talking Shop: Grantmaker Perspectives”? Because adults learn best in the morning (with coffee) and from friends, we invite you to tap local knowledge and address "best practices” in grantmaking.  New to the Maryland Philanthropy Network calendar, these peer discussions will focus on grantmaking practice and foundation management.  Conveniently scheduled for one hour in the morning, two participants will briefly present their different perspectives on the discussion topic and then an open discussion will be facilitated.  While primarily aimed at foundation and corporate professionals, topics may interest members pursuing personal philanthropy as well.  To suggest future topics contact Adam at adonaldson@marylandphilanthropy.org.

This program is for our members only.
