Member Sponsored Briefing: Johnston Square Partnership Toward Equitable Redevelopment
ReBUILD Metro works to restore and revitalize Baltimore’s neighborhoods by rebuilding homes and fostering enduring community relationships. Since 2008, they have rebuilt over 450 abandoned properties creating quality homes, apartments, storefronts, parks, and maintained green spaces--creating an 85% reduction in housing vacancies across their two primary reinvestment areas of Oliver/Broadway East and Greenmount West.
ReBUILD Metro’s model starts with community-led planning and is proven to reverse the decline of long-suffering neighborhoods. By 2030, their reinvestment strategy will enable families to walk or ride a bike from Penn Station to Johns Hopkins Hospital without seeing an abandoned house.
Join us for a conversation with ReBUILD Metro President, Sean Closkey, and Regina Hammond, Rebuild Johnston Square Neighborhood Organization’s Executive Director to explore their shared work to create the Johnston Square Partnership, ensuring equitable redevelopment of the neighborhood.
This briefing is jointly sponsored by the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation and the Baltimore Community Foundation.
This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members and invited guests only.
