Information Session: Impact Capacity Assessment Tool (iCAT)

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network for our next State of the Sector Workgroup meeting where we will discuss tools to better understand the organizational health needs of nonprofits. The conversation will focus specifically on the Impact Capacity Assessment Tool (iCAT), which is an assessment and planning tool that can help nonprofits better understand their organizational capacity based on direct input from those who know the organization best – staff and board. The resulting data provides organizational insights not only to nonprofits but also to funders who support them. Through an online survey, the iCAT collects anonymous input from invited stakeholders on six, research-based organizational capacities. The iCAT automatically converts the anonymous input into an online report summarizing organizational strengths and weaknesses and recommendations for improvement. In this information session, join Sally Munemitsu, Founder of Algorhythm, to learn and ask questions about the iCAT.

Since 2016, the T. Rowe Price Foundation has partnered with Algorhythm to make the iCAT tool available to nonprofits in the Baltimore region at no cost. Members of the T. Rowe Price Foundation will also be available to answer questions about the logistics of local nonprofits utilizing the tool via the T. Rowe Price Foundation capacity building program.

The State of the Sector Workgroup is a peer-to-peer learning exchange opportunity designed to provide the space for funders to continue the conversation about the State of the Sector Report and to think together about what funders can do differently to strengthen the nonprofit sector. Based on report findings, the group continues to explore existing paradigms specific to the nonprofit sector, what it takes to make the shift to organizational health from program outcomes, and philanthropic strategies that support the organizational health of nonprofits.
