Anne Arundel Funders Roundtable: Best Grant/Worst Grant
Our presenters will be YOU and your colleagues. We will have an open conversation to deepen our relationships and learn from each other's grantmaking experience in the community. You will be asked to share two grantmaking experiences – one that you would describe as your "best” grant and one that you would describe as your "worst” grant. Together we will learn what characteristics we seek in grantmaking and what contributes to our successes and less satisfying grants.
Not sure what details to talk about - here are some things to consider after choosing a grant:
- To whom was the grant given?
- What was your history with that organization/person?
- What was the purpose of the grant?
- Did the grant achieve its desired outcomes? Why, or why not?
- What did the grantee learn? What did you learn?
- What has happened since?
If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Adam Donaldson, adonaldson@marylandphilanthropy.org or Jan Hoffberger. jan@cfaac.org. Please note this date is a change from May 24 – previously announced – to accommodate Commission Week in Annapolis.
The Anne Arundel Funders Roundtable is open to private and public funders making grants in Anne Arundel County. The Roundtable is jointly staffed by the Maryland Philanthropy Network and the Community Foundation of Anne Arundel County. It meets at least three times a year and is a non-solicitation environment.
