POSTPONED: Focus on City Schools: Enrollment Task Force
This program has been postponed. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Enrollment in Baltimore City fell by 1,700 students at the start of the 2017-2018 school year. Although Baltimore's overall population fell, a 2% drop in student enrollment, the lowest enrollment for City Schools in a decade, impacts funding for City Schools. In November 2017, Dr. Santelises launched an enrollment task force in order to engage a range of partners to develop strategies that increase enrollment. The task force includes members from the school district, the school board, the mayor's office, communities, businesses and nonprofit organizations.
On April 24th, members of the task force will join Maryland Philanthropy Network for a conversation. The panelists will share work completed to date and a variety of preliminary findings and potential recommendations. The panelists will include:
- Cheryl Casciani, Baltimore Community Foundation & Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners, Chair of Enrollment Task Force
- Tina Hike-Hubbard, Enterprise Community Partners, Co-chair of the Enrollment Strategies Workgroup and a City Schools parent
- Annie Milli, Live Baltimore, Chair of the Marketing and Public Relations Workgroup
- Paul Wolman, WolmanEdge, Chair of the Customer Service Workgroup
This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members only.
