2025 Health Legislative Debrief

Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network's Health Funders Affinity Group for a debrief and information session on health issues in this year’s legislative session. Ashley Woolard, Attorney with the Public Justice Center, Vincent DeMarco, President of the Health Care for All! Coalition, and Dan Martin and Linda Raines with the Mental Health Association of MD (MHAMD) will share the outcomes of their advocacy work, overcoming the budget constraints, and what to prepare for next year’s session. 

This program aims to give participants a better understanding of:

1. The recent clinical and public health legislative developments in Maryland;
2. Steps being taken at the State legislative level to protect and expand healthcare access and services for Marylanders;
3. The support needed for Medicaid expansion and accessibility;
4. Direction on current advocacy needs.

Specific topics will include the campaign to strengthen and create an effective Maryland’s Prescription Drug Affordability Board, bills related to language access and salary and benefits equity for Community and Home Health Workers, and legislation designed to ensure Marylanders have access to high-quality behavioral health and substance use care.
