Conversation with Maryland Department of Health Secretary Laura Herrera Scott

Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Health Funders Affinity Group is pleased to host Maryland Department of Health’s Secretary Laura Herrera Scott for a conversation about the Secretary’s vision for the Department and its strategies to promote lifelong health and wellness for all Marylanders.  She will speak on their efforts to promote and improve the health and safety of Maryland residents of all ages through disease prevention, access to care, quality management, and community engagement.

Secretary Herrera Scott brings a wealth of leadership experience to this role. She served as Deputy Secretary of Public Health from 2011-2015, has held membership on many health councils focused on health justice and equity, served in the US Army Medical Corps, and holds an M.D. from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center and an M.P.H. from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.

In person attendance is encouraged and a virtual option will be available to MPN members outside of the Baltimore region.
