The purpose of Funders Together to End Homelessness Baltimore (FTEHB) is to bring private and public funders together to focus on structural and racial inequities related to housing instability, homelessness, and supportive services, and to prevent and end homelessness in the Baltimore region.
The Prenatal-to-Five (PN-5) Affinity Group was created to help funders who are interested in supporting expectant parents, and children from birth through age five and their families improve their grantmaking by learning more about initiatives, educational research, and best practices. Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network in partnership with the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore for an exciting day of learning and networking with fellow philanthropic leaders. This half-day program will focus on the unique challenges and opportunities faced by grantmaking organizations and communities serving rural Maryland. We will learn from Dr. Yen Dang, Professor of the Rural Health Disparities Program at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and Special Secretary Carmel Martin, Governor’s Office for Children. Gain insight and understanding regarding social determinants of health and Governor Moore's new place-based strategies associated with the E.N.O.U.G.H Act, which aims to reduce the causes of childhood poverty in communities across Maryland. Participants will then enjoy lunch and an engaging conversation with local voices to discuss shared goals around the racial, social, and economic inequities facing rural Maryland and how philanthropy might respond.
During last year's Green Funders Legislative Debrief, the Maryland Climate Partners Coalition Steering Committee provided an update to funders on the progress of implementing the Climate Solutions Now Act. In collaboration with Chesapeake Bay Funders Network, Maryland Philanthropy Network's Green Funders Affinity Group invites you to learn more about what's next for this work as the Climate Partners track progress on state goals, educate key stakeholders, and advocate for the full enactment of all components of the law.
