Growing Opportunities in Family Child Care: Supporting Small Business Owners & Solutions to the Child Care Crisis
In 2021, Maryland passed legislation that set up the Growing Opportunities in Family Child Care (GOFCC) program to provide targeted support for individuals to open a registered (licensed) family child care program. On June 2, Maryland Family Network released a competitive Request for Proposals for implementation grants that require a fiscal match. At least three grantees will be chosen from the pool of applicants who meet the submission deadline of July 29.
During this meeting, Laura Weeldreyer and Lacey Egerton from Maryland Family Network will present details about GOFCC, the RFP process, the fiscal match, and how the initiative contributes an important solution to help address the child care crisis.
This meeting is for all MPN members who are interested in responding to the crisis by helping to grow the child care workforce which, in turn, supports the broader workforce.
