Health Legislative Session 2022 Part II – What’s Next?
Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network's Health Funders Affinity Group and Public Policy Funders for a deeper dive discussing the complexities in meeting the objectives of two health bills passed at the 2022 Legislative session, Medical Assistance Adult Dental coverage (bill SB150/HB6) and Healthy Babies Equity Act (bill SB0778/HB1080).
We are fortunate to have presenters:
- Mary Backley, Chief Executive Officer, Maryland Dental Action Coalition
- Charlotte Hager, Public Health Consultant
- Cathryn Paul, Government Relations and Public Policy Manager, CASA
- Kony Serrano Portillo, Research and Policy Analyst, CASA
Our speakers will explore the plans, programs, and infrastructure necessary to implement the bills’ mandates throughout Maryland. Participants will learn about the current pilot programs and partnerships needed to integrate oral health and prenatal/maternal healthcare to uninsured and underinsured patients into county and state health care delivery systems that have been historically disinvested. The programs that evolve from these legislative policies will improve and sustain equitable access to care for thousands of low-income Marylanders overcoming racial and ethnic disparities in health outcomes.
This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members only.
