Strategizing for Our Future: A Discussion of Tax Credit Expansions to Reduce Poverty
The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) being signed into law had major implications for families, especially for low-income families and households. A major component that can impact child poverty by almost 50% are the changes to tax credits including the federal Child Tax Credit (CTC) and the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). The significant expansions of the tax credits can truly provide a more equitable future for those who have been affected by devastation across the state of Maryland and across the nation.
Join Maryland Philanthropy Network and EITC Funders Network for an important conversation to explore how foundations can be a part of advocacy efforts to ensure these tax credits provide increased and long-lasting economic security for families.
We will be hearing from:
- Ami Nagle, Coordinator, EITC Funders Network
- Danielle Goonan, Managing Director, U.S. Equity and Economic Opportunity Initiative, Rockefeller Foundation
- Robin McKinney, Co-Founder and CEO, CASH Campaign of Maryland
This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members only.
