Teacher Pipeline Series: Part II – Practitioner Perspectives

Teacher Pipeline Series: Part II – Practitioner Perspectives

Tuesday, May 17, 2022, 1:00 - 2:30 PM

The second in our two-part series will focus on practitioner perspectives on teacher retention, challenges, and opportunities. Along with school principals, a representative from the national TNTP Teaching Fellows will speak to their recent report: Addressing Teacher Shortages: Practical Ideas for the Pandemic and Beyond | TNTP.

The onslaught of the pandemic has created a crisis in the classroom with school systems at-risk of losing educators. This series will explore the impact of the pandemic on the teacher experience over the last two years, strategies to retain teachers, how teachers are being rewarded and valued, and the role of philanthropy in supporting teachers in our state.

Speakers:

  • Christine Love, TNTP Teaching Fellows
  • Kelly O’Connell, Principal, Mars Estates Elementary School
  • Peter Kannam, Principal, Henderson-Hopkins Partnership School (K-8)
  • David Guzman, Principal, The Historic Cherry Hill Elementary/Middle School

This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members and invited guests only.
