Fall 2024 Workforce Community Conversation Series on Transportation Barriers to Work: In-Person Dialogue Between Grantees and Funders

Fall 2024 Workforce Community Conversation Series on Transportation Barriers to Work: In-Person Dialogue Between Grantees and Funders

Thursday, December 05, 2024, 1:00 - 3:00 PM

This in-person Workforce Community Conversation will create a space of honest conversation between funders and workforce development organizations to advance a shared sense of mutual understanding, accountability, and possibility.

This event will focus on the topic of Transportation Barriers to Work and is an opportunity for open dialogue about one of the most vexing barriers to employment for Baltimore residents. The conversation will explore the issue of transportation to work through the lens of workforce development professionals who are challenged every day to meet their clients’ needs. It will offer opportunities for organizations to share creative workarounds to systemic barriers at the program level, and to explore collaborative approaches to achieving larger systems changes.

The goals of the Workforce Community Conversations initiative are to: create a shared learning space about workforce development conditions, trends, and strategies; increase opportunities for non-profit workforce development providers to inform and influence grantmaking and public investments; develop new and improved relationships among stakeholders; identify opportunities to turn ideas and conversations into practices at an ecosystem level; and identify policies and issues for collective advocacy.

Who is organizing this? These Community Conversations are convened by the Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative (BWFC), an initiative of Maryland Philanthropy Network. They are designed and guided by a non-profit led, multi-stakeholder sub-committee.

Participation - This program will be a discussion among workforce providers and public & philanthropic funders only. (maximum 55 registrants)

Sponsored by the Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative. This event is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members and invited guests.
