A Conversation with Advocates for Working Families
COVID-19 is bearing down on communities of color with intense disproportional impacts that are felt both economically and physically. Workers deemed “essential” on the frontlines in sectors such as healthcare, retail, food manufacturing, and agriculture are bearing a tremendous burden. This moment shines a spotlight on persistent racial disparities in employment, wages, benefits, wealth, health and safety, and more.
Join the Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative and other family-focused funders for an action-oriented conversation about policy responses that are needed to ensure that “essential” workers are truly valued and treated as such. We will also discuss efforts to break down racialized barriers to obtaining and maintaining quality employment.
