Diversifying the Environmental Movement through Preservation of Green Space

Diversifying the Environmental Movement through Preservation of Green Space

Tuesday, December 06, 2016, 12:00 - 1:30 PM

Environmental funders are aware of the need to diversify the movement and build support, especially in urban centers. Protecting our environment depends on having a robust and diverse grassroots base.

This program highlights efforts to inspire and respond to land stewards in densely populated areas. How are Baltimore City and County land conservation groups working to preserve and increase green spaces in ways that make more people – from more walks of life – care about the environment?

Our speakers will be:

  • Miriam Avins, Baltimore Green Space;
  • Barbara Hopkins, NeighborSpace of Baltimore County;
  • Ann Mitchell Sackey, Charm City Land Trust; and
  • Bill Leahy, Maryland Environmental Trust.

This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members only. Lunch will be served.
