Maryland Philanthropy Network Exchange (01-08-2021)
As the COVID-19 outbreak evolves, we are convening members, grantees, and government sector partners to stay connected, informed, and to support collaborative action.
Maryland Philanthropy Network (MPN) plans to use these 60-minute exchanges to maintain a sense of how our community of funders is responding now and as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. These gatherings will be recorded to allow our team to accurately summarize and distribute an executive summary to our membership and attendees. We will also use information from these regular exchanges to convene more focused conversations as needed. Please read our Statement about COVID-19 and note we have started compiling resources and information on our website and will continue to update the page as the situation and response unfolds.
This exchange is going to focus on the jobs crisis. Employment data from the second quarter of 2020, when the Pandemic forced close-downs of many businesses, is now available. We will begin with Mike Kelly of the Baltimore Metropolitan Council who will tell us just which workers have been impacted in Central Maryland. Then we will hear from Jason Perkins-Cohen, Director of the Baltimore Mayor’s Office of Employment Development, to learn about what these numbers really mean for the City and how we can be responsive.
This program is open to Maryland Philanthropy Network members and invited guests.
