The Accomplishments & Future of the B'More for Healthy Babies Initiative
Join Maryland Philanthropy Network's Prenatal to Five Affinity Group for a conversation with Dr. Letitia Dzirasa, Baltimore City Health Commissioner, who will provide a progress update on B’More for Healthy Babies Initiative (BHB) Collective Impact Strategy and a presentation about what is on the horizon. Representatives from the Abell Foundation will present a report that was commissioned to highlight BHB’s accomplishments.
BHB is an innovative initiative to reduce infant mortality in Baltimore City through programs emphasizing policy change, service improvements, community mobilization, and behavior change. It has helped reduce the infant mortality rate in Baltimore City to its lowest point ever by focusing on decreasing the three leading causes of infant death: premature birth, low birthweight, and unsafe sleep.
Maryland Philanthropy Network members interested in attending a Prenatal to Five Affinity Group event for the first time are encouraged to reach out to Marlo Nash prior to attending a meeting.
This meeting was originally scheduled for November 8, 2022.
