Focus on City Schools: School Choice
Rising 6th grade and 9th grade students in Baltimore City have the opportunity to apply to the middle and high schools of their choice. Through the choice process, students and families prioritize the qualities of a school that are most important to them – theme, academic approach, geography, size, etc. – which is intended to lead to greater satisfaction and retention in the school. As a result of the pandemic and the movement toward a more equitable process, the school choice process this year has been adjusted.
A Baltimore City Public Schools team will walk us through the school choice process, highlighting recent changes and sharing plans for continued improvement. Speakers include:
- Brandon Tilghman, Director, Office of Enrollment, Choice & Transfers
- Dominick Bivens, Staff Associate/Choice Lead, Office of Enrollment, Choice & Transfers
This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members only.
