Update on Consortium of Coordinated Community Supports in Baltimore City
Join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Health and Education Funders Affinity Groups for an update from Crista Taylor and Adrienne Breidenstine from Behavioral Health System Baltimore, Inc. a non-profit that serves as the local behavioral health authority (LBHA) for Baltimore City, and Baltimore City Public Schools Health & Specialist Student Services, Dr. Courtney Pate and Ashley Collins on grants that have been awarded, to date, to Baltimore City organizations under the Consortium of Coordinated Community Supports funding opportunity.
The Maryland Community Health Resources Commission (CHRC) “houses” and is administering the grant funding made available by the Maryland General Assembly under the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. The “Consortium” grants aim to expand access to high-quality behavioral health and related services for students and families, improve student well-being, and foster positive classroom environments. The CHRC announced awards for direct service providers in February, and announcements for the “hubs” or backbone grant recipients will be made in the near future.
In this session, we hope that BHSB and Baltimore City Public Schools can provide more information on how the direct service organizations that received grants have started to or will be expanding access to behavioral health services (what types of services at what tiers, what schools), as well as any information that is available on the “hubs” grant process/timeline, and how the Baltimore City hub will be working with direct service grantees in the future.
Time permitting, members will have time for peer-sharing to provide information about behavioral health projects they are investing in.
This program is for Maryland Philanthropy Network members only. Lunch will be served for those attending in person.
