The Environmental Protection Agency’s Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF) is a $27 billion investment in climate and clean energy established by the Inflation Reduction Act. Please join the Green Funders Affinity Group to learn about the purpose and components of the GGRF. Representatives of local organizations that have applied for funding to benefit Maryland will describe each fund and their proposed strategy and share thoughts about barriers to community institutions accessing funding, and philanthropy’s role in supporting the infrastructure for equitable implementation of investments especially at the state and local levels.

The Baltimore Community Foundation is proud to announce the launch of the Black Philanthropy Circle. The Black Philanthropy Circle is a nonprofit 501(c)3 donor-advised fund focused on charitable giving to nonprofits that directly support Black people and communities in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Founded by a group of more than 30 Black business and civic leaders, the Black Philanthropy Circle was established to cultivate an inclusive philanthropic community, to build the capacity of Baltimore’s Black nonprofits, and to impact Greater Baltimore’s Black community at large.

Through these efforts, previously unemployed residents are getting industry recognized certifications and jobs with career advancement opportunities at impressive rates. This report highlights several of these initiatives and offers recommendations on how they can be expanded.
