The mission is to educate the public and support the preservation of architecturally and historically significant sites throughout Maryland. The Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage administers house and garden tours held annually in designated counties to raise funds for historic restoration projects.

  • Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks
  • Mailchimp and distribution of email blasts
  • Oversight of website content
  • Database experience
  • Strong time management skills

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Executive Administrator will manage daily operations; demonstrate professional communication skills with the Central Committee and MHGP constituency; accuracy in accounting of funds; efficient management of workflow;  promote the mission of the organization and successful execution of the MHGP tours

Executive Administrator will serve as liaison between the Central Committee, tour chairs, volunteers, homeowners and the public.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and execute with accuracy operations of business which include: accounting for receipt and expenditures of all funds, ongoing financial reports available to the Central Committee.
  • Attendance at Central Committee meetings with current status reports.
  • Assistance with management and coordination of MHGP tours to include; publication of tour book and ticket sales.

SUMMARY:

The candidate should demonstrate competency in written and oral communication; an ability to accurately account for funds; good organizational skills and computer proficiency; all to support the ongoing operations of the Maryland House and Garden Pilgrimage. The candidate should possess an interest in Maryland’s history and historic sites and landmarks.

There will be the need for flexibility in work hours with more responsibilities during the Spring tour season. The candidate should show a willingness to receive direction; synthesize information provided; solve problems in an amenable manner and work well with others.
