Senior Associate, Evidence-Based Practice Group

Hiring Organization:
The Annie E. Casey Foundation
Description:

Salary Range: $120,000 to 130,000 annually

The Annie E. Casey Foundation is devoted to developing a brighter future for millions of children and young people with respect to their educational, economic, social and health outcomes. The Foundation’s work focuses on strengthening families, building stronger communities and ensuring access to opportunity, because children, youth and young adults need all three to succeed. Casey advances research and solutions to overcome the barriers to success, help communities demonstrate what works and influence decision makers to invest in strategies based on solid evidence.

The Foundation’s Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) group, within the Research, Evaluation, Evidence and Data (REED) unit, supports building evidence to demonstrate the effectiveness of practices, programs and policies in Casey priority areas that ensure youth and young adults have the family connections, relationships, communities and educational and employment opportunities they need to thrive.

At Casey, you will find a dynamic environment with staff of diverse backgrounds and perspectives who share a deep commitment to advancing the Foundation’s mission. Casey staff also have flexible schedules, including a hybrid workweek, to support a healthy work-life balance.

The Foundation is seeking a senior-level professional to play a lead role in the Foundation’s strategic grant making process, with a focus on building and supporting partnerships to strengthen the supply of culturally responsive, evidence-based programs that help build a bright, equitable future for America’s children, youth and families.

As a senior associate, you will:

  • Provide content expertise on culturally-responsive, evidence-based program and practice development, implementation, fidelity monitoring, evaluation and scaling strategies.
  • Promote the Foundation’s focus on evidence-based practice, communicating information to nonprofit partners, community members, program developers and providers, philanthropic colleagues, policymakers and the general public.
  • Design and lead a strategy to identify grantee and technical assistance partners; co-design project plans and set and achieve Foundation learning goals for these investments.
  • Build the capacity of grantees, partners and staff to promote the building of evidence and the implementation and scaling of culturally responsive and effective programs and practices.
  • Work with practitioners, researchers, evaluators and Casey colleagues to build support for equitable implementation, program development and/or scaling of programs developed with communities and participants to address gaps in program availability and achieve positive and equitable outcomes among underserved populations.
  • Plan and manage site visits, meetings or other gatherings of partners, grantees and consultants.
  • Initiate and monitor grants, contracts and invoices to ensure compliance and timely completion of contract requirements.

Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in human services, public policy, social science or a related discipline or the equivalent combination of education or experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in a government agency, community-based non-profit organization, education institution or research and evaluation entity, developing, monitoring and delivering programs and practices to close racial and ethnic equity gaps in achieving well-being for youth, families and communities
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills to implement and oversee complex projects
  • Ability to collaborate with grantees, be comfortable with their changing needs and remain open to different deliverable and progression rates for each grantee, serving as a thought partner to leaders and program developers of color
  • Demonstrated experience with program development and evidence-building is essential
  • Exceptional writing, public speaking and presentation skills, including experience presenting complex subject matter to non-expert audiences and high-level decision makers
