The Prenatal-to-Five (PN-5) Affinity Group was created to help funders who are interested in supporting expectant parents, and children from birth through age five and their families improve their grantmaking by learning more about initiatives, educational research, and best practices. The Prenatal-to-Five Affinity Group:
- Supports and broadens a network of Marylandfunders working to improve early childhood outcomes;
- Provides learning opportunities for Maryland Philanthropy Network members to investigate promising programs, initiatives, and issues identified as high priority by its members targeted towards expectant parents, and children from birth through age five and their families. Past and current interest areas include pandemic-related effects and responses, major national grants at the local and state levels (including ARPA funds), childcare, child welfare, and collaborative impact efforts;
- Provides a forum for members to share lessons from jurisdictions across the state, national conversations and initiatives, and members’ own grantmaking activities;
- Keeps members abreast of local, state, and national funding initiatives targeted to expectant parents, and children from birth through age five and their families.
