In Baltimore, we know this work requires multiple players from across sectors to come together differently. Since 2011, the Baltimore Integration Partnership (BIP), a partnership of philanthropic, nonprofit, financial, anchor and public sector organizations, has been working to advance economic inclusion. Our approach offers opportunities and lessons learned that are important for Baltimore to move forward.
This hands-on workshop introduces the topic youth philanthropy (0-18 years) and the concept that youth have the ability to share their time, talents, and treasures for the common good. Maryland Philanthropy Network joins United Philanthropy Forum signing on to a letter related to understanding how changes to the tax code in Congress impact the charitable sector and what it means for data-driven decision making to have an impact on policy reform. The ask is to include charitable organizations and donors in discussions that impact the sector as soon as possible. This letter was signed onto this as it is in alignment with the broader policy of charitable reform which seems to allow for general support.

Presentations will new research on reverse mortgage patterns among senior homeowners in Baltimore City, recent national research on the lack of sufficient affordable housing available to a growing share of senior renters, and plans for the launch of federal stimulus aid to prevent mortgage foreclosures in Baltimore City and the State of Maryland.
