The Maryland Philanthropy Network is pleased to host Dr. Sonja Santelises, Chief Executive Officer of the Baltimore City Public School System, for an annual conversation with the CEO of Baltimore City Schools on September 13, 2018.
This week’s call with Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative will include a presentation from Alma Roberts and Tonga Turner from Kaiser Permanente about a new community resource network as part of the Bold Moves Toward Recovery initiative.

This will be an opportunity to learn Mr. Choudhury’s goals for the Maryland State Department of Education, anticipated needs for the upcoming school year, along with an opportunity to explore the role of philanthropy in supporting public education in our state. We will also hear updates on procurement reform and the city grants and contracts processes. Alli will be joined by agency partners with Baltimore City Government.

Join Maryland Philanthropy Network for a conversation with sector leaders including guests from the Annie E. Casey Foundation, CLLCTIVLY, and Leaders of a Beautiful Struggle to discuss advocacy and the role of philanthropy. This program will explore challenges and opportunities around growing a grantmaking infrastructure for policy and systems reform advocacy including community-led movements. Members will learn about what’s needed in the space, reimagining philanthropy, strategies that work, and the urgency of the moment in the current political climate.
