This hands-on workshop introduces the topic youth philanthropy (0-18 years) and the concept that youth have the ability to share their time, talents, and treasures for the common good. Jill Gordon, Program Director of the Youth Philanthropy Initiative of Indiana will explore current youth philanthropy research and resources while sharing examples of successful program activities, grantmaking efforts, and fundraising initiatives.
With over 7000 miles of tidal coastline, Maryland is one of the most vulnerable states to sea level rise.
Join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Education Funders and Prenatal to Five Affinity Groups to learn about "mixed delivery systems" of care that connect across multiple programs, providers, and settings (including public schools and community-based organizations) that can be supported with a combination of public funds and private funds. Our speakers will share possible avenues for a system of mixed delivery in Baltimore and across Maryland along with potential next steps. Space will be created for dialogue between funders about steps you can take together around early care and education.

When population vulnerability coincides with a pattern of pollution exposure, we call it environmental injustice. How do we objectively identify such cases?
The global pandemic undeniably established in the public mind that robust, affordable broadband service is part of our critical public infrastructure and an essential tool for our daily lives—as necessary as reliable electricity and clean water. Join Maryland Philanthropy Network to learn about the various aspects of the digital divide and the prospects for addressing it in Maryland and, particularly, in Baltimore City and Baltimore County. We’ll learn about the role of the new Office of Statewide Broadband; possibilities of building out broadband infrastructure and digital navigators; and gaps in public funding/possible investment opportunities for philanthropy.
The Maryland Chamber of Commerce and the Baltimore Business Journal will present its business philanthropy awards to three Maryland businesses from noon to 2 p.m. Friday at the Renaissance Baltimore Harborplace Hotel.
