Join Maryland Philanthropy Network and the Trust-Based Philanthropy Project as we explore questions about changes funders are making and how to leverage this moment to reexamine philanthropic practices. After presenting a general overview of the interrelated principles of trust-based philanthropy, we'll engage in a discussion about how trust-based practice benefits whole systems — enabling both funders and nonprofits to do our work with more ease, authenticity, and joy.

As funders, we can begin to remedy philanthropy’s unjust practices, policies, and outcomes through our explicit and intentional actions. Abundance is a movement in philanthropy to change practice, policy, mindsets, and ways of being to support Black people and communities. Join the session to hear how funders are taking action towards Abundance, and learn how you can be a part of the movement.
Maryland Philanthropy Network joins United Philanthropy Forum signing on to a letter related to understanding how changes to the tax code in Congress impact the charitable sector and what it means for data-driven decision making to have an impact on policy reform. The ask is to include charitable organizations and donors in discussions that impact the sector as soon as possible. This letter was signed onto this as it is in alignment with the broader policy of charitable reform which seems to allow for general support.
