Maryland Philanthropy Network is pleased to finally host an open house for members at our office space in Baltimore’s Hampden neighborhood! Our customized 4,000-square-foot office features a polished and comfortable conference room (twice the size as our old one), casual meeting areas, an open kitchen, and over 100 feet of gallery space! This will be a lightly structured opportunity to meet, build relationships with colleagues and MPN staff, and unwind. MPN will provide appetizers and drinks.
No matter where your organization might be or want to be on the spectrum of impact investing, join Maryland Philanthropy Network, and the Chesapeake Bay Funders Network for an opportunity to learn and share your experience with other funders. Toniic, a community of funders and asset holders seeking deeper net impact across a spectrum of capital, will also provide an overview of the many types and approaches grant makers can use to leverage capital for good. We will then hold a funder-only discussion to assess interest in a funder learning cohort specific to our region and/or the many opportunities emerging in the agriculture, climate, and food sectors.
One of the greatest values of membership is the colleagues you meet and the relationships you build with them. Join Maryland Philanthropy Network for a conversation with communication peers in philanthropy. Together, over coffee and tea, we will discuss what's on the mind of those who attend, current dilemmas, recent success stories, favorite tools, perennial questions, and more.
This September, the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) welcomes only its second director in its 30+-year history with the appointment of Jenenne Whitfield by the Board of Directors to succeed Founder, Director and Primary Curator Rebecca Alban Hoffberger. Join the Arts Funders Affinity Group for a conversation with Ms. Whitfield to learn about her vision for AVAM, the current state of the museum, and other pertinent issues. Funders of arts and culture will have the opportunity to build relationships with one another and share their interests as well.

Please join Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Health Funders Affinity Group and Affinity Group on Aging for our third discussion about community-based programs supported by Total Cost of Care resources. Happening during National Diabetes Awareness Month, this program will provide an overview of two of the six partnership initiatives funded through the Regional Partnership Catalyst Program and developed to address the growing diabetes epidemic in Maryland. MPN members and partners will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about opportunities to support the efforts in a successful diabetes campaign to reduce diabetes.
Baltimore has long benefited from the place-based investments of our philanthropic community. The Community Investment Affinity Group and others who invest in place are invited to hear about two newer initiatives led, in part, by MPN members:
