Maryland has an opportunity to build a statewide, multi-racial coalition of organizations comprised of parents and providers designed to build awareness and unite around a plan to educate policymakers and other key stakeholders on Prenatal to 3 priorities for parents, families and communities. The Maryland Family Network (MFN) currently has a planning grant from the J.B. and M.K. Pritzker Foundation (Pritzker) with an opportunity to receive an implementation grant. The Prenatal-to-Five (PN-5) and Education Funders Affinity Groups are invited to learn more about the focus of the planning grant, the importance of stakeholder engagement toward achieving policies and systems goals in the state, and how MFN, Strong Schools Maryland and other organizations are working together to prepare a strong case for continued support from Pritzker.
Maryland Philanthropy Network members interested in attending for the first time are encouraged to reach out to Marlo Nash prior to attending a meeting.

Keswick doesn't just want to look at the blood pressure and medical records of the older adults it serves, the Baltimore company is tracking everything as it seeks to use data to provide better health care outcomes for both patients and insurers.
By leveraging their grantmaking, local knowledge, and personal relationships, family foundations and fund holders are uniquely positioned to influence public policy.
We know this past year and the months ahead have been beyond challenging for the healthcare community and that actions on our part have been crucial to supporting vital health services and the hardworking staff behind them.
We are starting the year with a Sharing Session so we can continue to build relationships with one another and share what we are thinking about and focusing on, as well as questions/struggles. We know the year ahead will be especially challenging for the cultural community and collective action on our part will be meaningful.
The purpose of the Arts Funders Affinity Group is to engage and educate Maryland funders about the dynamic local arts and cultural scene and the many opportunities it presents.

The events of 2020 inspired many words in these pages about the imperative of putting racial equity at the center of philanthropy. The opening days of 2021 have only reinforced the urgency of this message.
