Our Neighborhood Grants Program offers funding for projects that help neighborhoods in Baltimore City and Baltimore County become and remain safe, vibrant, clean and green, and to be supporters and champions of their local schools.
On November 13th, Danista E. Hunte, President and CEO of Maryland Philanthropy Network, Linda Dworak, Director of the Baltimore Workforce Funders Collaborative (BWFC), and members of the BWFC attended the annoucement of the new Baltimore Workforce Hub at Carver Vocational High School in Baltimore. MPN’s BWFC will collaborate with the Baltimore Mayor’s Office of Employment Development, Baltimore City Schools, and the Baltimore DC Building Trades Council to coordinate the project.

In July, Sagamore Development Corporation and the South Baltimore Six (SB6) Coalition announced a long-term investment partnership and community benefits agreement.
We are starting the year with a Sharing Session so we can continue to build relationships with one another and share what we are thinking about and focusing on, as well as questions/struggles. We know the year ahead will be especially challenging for the cultural community and collective action on our part will be meaningful.
The purpose of the Arts Funders Affinity Group is to engage and educate Maryland funders about the dynamic local arts and cultural scene and the many opportunities it presents.
Attention all Maryland Philanthropy Network members funding in arts and culture! Please join us at this session where participants will share with one other their current focus areas, some grant information and questions/struggles. Together we will plan learning programs and other activities for the Arts Funders Affinity Group in 2018.

The one and a half hour walking tour will start at Dovecote Café and will highlight past, present and future NDC projects and partners located within the Reservoir Hill neighborhood from the past 50 years. The Maryland Philanthropy Network’s Aging Innovations Group and Maryland Department of Aging invite you to a special presentation by the National Center to Reframe Aging to gain an understanding of the need to change the way our society communicates about aging and older adults. This session will provide guidance on how to advance an equitable and complete story about aging and promote evidence-based communication strategies to frame aging issues and help participants learn more about the power of research-based framing strategies to increase the impact and efficacy of your communications and work.
All funders interested in housing stability and homelessness are welcome to attend the meetings of Funders Together to End Homelessness – Baltimore.
